Whoop’s explosive growth led to capacity constraints in their engineering team resulting in new third-party integrations getting stuck in the backlog.
Whoop partnered with The Gnar to facilitate new customer integrations and supporting documentation. The Gnar started by building a sample testing application and associated documentation to enable Whoop integration partners to easily test their Whoop API integrations.The Gnar served as the "first line of defense" for all third-party companies that wanted to integrate with the Whoop API, which included onboarding calls with developers, implementation of best practices to the API, self-service documentation creation, and robust reporting.
As a strategic extension of their engineering team, we enabled the core members to focus on building the product during a time of hypergrowth, while providing the peace of mind that new partners would have a frictionless onboarding experience.
